Examine the psychological effects of history on our behavior (how we think, act and speak), why we need it and how it applies to the lives of people in general and for Black folk in particular. Provoke thought and to stimulate interest in understanding the necessity of critical thinking and research. Lankford Bolling, Jr. was born on June 9, 1948 in Princeton, N.J. In 1966, he graduated from Princeton High School and matriculated at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., where he graduated in 1971, with a B.S. in Psychology. He lived in Chicago for two years, working as a juvenile probation officer. In 1972, he moved to Houston, Texas and matriculated at Texas Southern University, earning 30 hours toward a graduate degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Urban Studies. He retired from the Texas Department of Transportation. He has a wife, 2 daughters, and 2 grandsons.
